Types of Gifts 
Each year, the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation receives generous gifts from members, parents and friends to provide scholarships, leadership development programs, grants to our Fraternity, support to our sisters and much more. Gifts may be made in the form of cash or securities, matching gifts or in the form of planned gifts through trusts, annuities or life insurance beneficiaries.

The Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Gifts to the Foundation are tax-deductible in the United States to the full extent of the law. Tax identification number 35-2057322.

Annual Fund Gifts
The Annual Fund is the Foundation’s annual campaign (June 1 – May 31) that raises the financial support necessary to fulfill our mission. What does this mean for our members and our communities? Specifically, unrestricted gifts to the Annual Fund help meet our annual operating needs and provides the following and more:

• Grants to the Alpha Gamma Delta Fraternity for scholarship, leadership and personal development programs for members and volunteers.   
• Scholarships awarded annually to ΑΓΔ  members attending school full-time to obtain their under/gradute degree.
• SIS (Sisters Income Supplement) Grants to members experiencing emergency financial need.
• Alumnae Continuing Education Grants to help our alumnae achieve their career goals.
• Grants to The Leadership Institute – Women with Purpose, helping Alpha Gams and all women reach their full leadership potential while growing personally and professionally.
• Philanthropic Grants focusing on individuals and organizations committed to diabetes research, education and the care and treatment of children and adults with diabetes.

Jewel Society
The Jewel Society originated in 1992 to recognize individual donors who contribute $500 or more annually (June 1 - May 31) to the Foundation. One year later, the Jewel Society was expanded to recognize collegiate chapters which donate $2,000 or more within one fiscal year and alumnae chapters and clubs which donate $1,000 or more within one fiscal year to the Foundation. The Jewel Society continues to grow each year due to the generosity of our members, family, friends, and parents and collegiate and alumnae chapters and clubs. Membership is renewable annually.  The Foundation's fiscal year is from June 1 - May 31.

Gifts to Endowments
An endowment gift to the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation is restricted by the donor to support a specific area of the Foundation’s mission. These include:

Scholarships may be endowed with a gift of $50,000 for an undergraduate award and $62,500 for a graduate award. Endowments may be created over a period of five years.

Other named endowments may be established for specific program areas. Please contact the Executive Director of your interest.

Unrestricted endowments allow the Foundation to fund areas of greatest need.

Honor Gifts
Members and friends of Alpha Gamma Delta may make gifts to the Foundation in honor of special occasions such as birthdays or initiation anniversaries, or the accomplishments of others. The Foundation notifies the honoree of the gift and lists them annually in the Quarterly and in the Foundation’s donor newsletter, Columns.

Memorial Gifts 
Alpha Gams and friends may make memorial gifts to the Foundation upon the death of a member, family member, or friend of Alpha Gamma Delta. The Foundation notifies the family of the deceased about the gift and lists all memorial gifts in the Quarterly and in the Foundation’s donor newsletter, Columns.

Gifts of Securites
In addition to the many other options, gifts of appreciated securities provide a tax-smart way to donate to the Foundation. As a donor of appreciated stock, you may avoid capital gains taxes while receiving an income tax deduction for the full fair market value of the gift. Many donors find they are able to make a larger gift using appreciated securities instead of cash. Please note that transfers of stock may take several days; be sure to plan ahead near the end of the calendar and/or Alpha Gamma Delta’s fiscal year. It’s easy to make a gift.

1. Visit with your financial consultant to confirm a gift of appreciated stock is a tax-smart decision for you.

Planned Giving and the Corinthian Society
The Corinthian Society honors those members and friends who provide for future generations of Alpha Gamma Delta through will bequests, trusts, insurance policies, pension plans, real or personal property gifts and annuities. Donors may receive estate tax benefits.
